THE THING!!! what a classic! i am 1000% obsessed with this movie. every single aspect is completely outstanding. the acting is phenomenal; the practical effects are showstopping; Jed the wolfdog is adorable and insanely skilled. here are some crazy cool things about The Thing:
- the actor dog who plays "Dog-Thing" is named Jed and he is actually half wolf!
- the practical effects team got creative with this movie. some supplies used in the especially gory scenes include mayonnaise, microwaved bubble gum, and jello.
- director john carpenter also directed Halloween 4 years before The Thing. Halloween!!
- keith davids, who plays childs, is a critically-acclaimed voice actor. he can be found as the voice of the cat in Coraline... (shameless plug!)
